Two kinds of Blinkit data
Your own data, from Blinkit
Blinkit gives brands their own numbers through its seller portal and its ads console. That includes your sales, your inventory and your ad performance, with reports you can download. This is the exact record of what you sold and spent. It doesn't show the shelf next to your competitors.
Market data, from the public shelf
What a shopper sees is public: the search results for a keyword, which products are in stock, prices and discounts. Tracking that shelf every day, across cities and dark stores, gives the market view: who ranks where, who pays for ads, who is out of stock and roughly how much each brand sells.
What each is good for
| Question | Data you need |
|---|---|
| How much did we sell yesterday? | Your own (seller portal) |
| Why did our sales drop in one city? | Both: your sales, plus stock and rank on the shelf |
| Who is taking share in our category? | Market data |
| Are our ads landing on the first scroll? | Market data (search results by rank) |
| Are we out of stock where it matters? | Both: your inventory, plus availability by dark store |
The key data points
- Search results by keyword, by rank, organic and sponsored apart. This gives share of search.
- Availability by SKU and dark store, with out-of-stock separated from not listed.
- Prices and discounts against the products next to yours.
- Estimated sales by product, brand and category, which gives market share.
Read it by store and city
Each Blinkit order comes from one dark store, and each store has its own shelf. National totals hide the city where you are out of stock or missing from the first scroll. Read Blinkit data by city first, then by store where something looks wrong.
Be honest about estimates
Market-wide sales from shelf tracking are estimates. They are reliable for shares and trends. Don't treat them as an exact unit count. Your own seller data is exact; keep the two clearly labelled.
For how to get the data into your own systems, read Blinkit data API. For sales specifically, read Blinkit sales data. Netr's Blinkit data puts both kinds in one dashboard.
