First, how to measure rank
Search the keyword in each city you care about, and note where you sit, organically and in ads. Use your typical rank, the position you hold most often, not an average that one odd result can skew. Rank changes by dark store, so one check from your office tells you little.
1. Stay in stock where it matters
An out-of-stock product can't be bought in that store and tends to fall out of its results. Stock gaps in a few busy stores can cost more rank than anything else. Check availability before you change anything else. See why is my product not showing on Blinkit.
2. Match the listing to the search
Your title should contain the words shoppers type: product type, key variant or flavour, and pack size. Images should show the product clearly at small size. Put the product in the right category. If the listing doesn't look like what the shopper searched for, it gets skipped even when it shows.
3. Pick the right SKU for each keyword
Look at what already ranks on the first scroll for a keyword. That is Blinkit telling you what shoppers want: format, flavour, size. Push the SKU that matches. A best seller that doesn't fit the search does worse than a smaller SKU that does.
4. Build sales on the keyword
Products that sell for a keyword tend to keep their place. Competitive pricing against the products next to you, sensible pack sizes and offers all help conversion.
5. Use ads where they help
Ads put you on the first scroll while you build. They are most useful on keywords where you rank just below the first scroll and fit the search well. They waste money where you already hold the first scroll organically, and where you are out of stock. See how Blinkit ads work.
6. Track it city by city
Watch your share of search on the first scroll, organic and sponsored apart, every day. When a city drops, check stock, then competitors' prices and ads.
Blinkit data in Digital Shelf tracks rank by keyword and city every morning. If you want us to run the ads side, see Blinkit ads.
